The film, from a subjective point of view, dramatises a very important event in the history of contemporary Italy. Chiara, a member of the Red Brigades, is involved in the kidnapping and killing of Aldo Moro, former Christian Democrat prime minister, in 1978. While the kidnappers hold Moro hostage in the apartment she rents, Chiara lives almost normally her every day life, until she gradually starts to question her ideological beliefs and the morality of the end justifying the means.
