Marie Losier, in the underground scene of New York, found that the 16mm Bolex was close to painting she has studied and close to the rhythm of her heart and soul. Autodidact, she learned making films by falling in love with an encounter. She has never lived without her Bolex and most of her films are made by that dance of her body and the camera, the asynchronized sound and image and the cut-up of images, sounds, emotions and surprises.
She will present these encounters with the artists and friends that pushed her to make film portraits, she will share how she proceeds to make her films, and tell back stories of many of her films.
