Victory march
Marcia trionfale / Victory march
Μυθοπλασία/Fiction, Ιταλία/Italy, 1976, 118′, 35mm, Έγχρ./Color, Με ήχο/sound
With his caustic humor, Bellocchio in this film explores the games of subordination and sexuality. Paolo Passeri, a cultivated and educated young man, is having a bad time in his military service, under the command of neurotic Captain Asciutto, and due to the bullying he endures from the seniors. Captain Asciutto’s galloping neurosis escalates, not only because of his military conception of “true men”, but also due to the whims and vices of his young and sexy wife. Paolo, a confident by now of his superior, is ordered to spy on her.
